Brendan Clancy (Fiddle)

Brendan Hails from Stradbally, County Waterford and has been playing Fiddle for almost 20 years now.Brendan learned the Fiddle from renowned teachers, Máire Govers, Gerry Harrington, Siobhán Peoples and many local musicans in the Dungarvan/West Waterford area such as Tomás Morrissey, Micky Dalton,

Michael Connerry, Mary Daly, Johnny McGrath (RIP), Paddy & Stephen Tutty, in Tom Mahoney’s Pub in Durrow, County Waterford and the “Bean A’ Leanna” Pub formally in Dungarvan, County Waterford. Brendan also played in a group with his brother Noel Clancy (Accordion and Melodeon) and his grandfather Tomás Clancy (RIP) on Mouthorgan

Since he’s started playing, he has also obtained a degree in Irish Music & Dance from UL. He has also played with some of the top performers and bands in Irish Traditional Music, including; Seamus Begley, Seamie O’Dowd, Benny McCarthy, Michael Flatley, Mick McAuley, Sharon Shannon, The Awbeg Ceilí Band, Donnchadh Gough, Paddy Keenan, Dónal Calncy, and Gerry McKee. Brendan has also played in some of the biggest and most prestigious venues also, including; The Helix Theatre Dublin, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, and The INEC Killarney and numerous other venues.

Brendan can be found playing in the Dungarvan and Cork City session scene.
