Tom Hyland (Producer)

Along with a lot of local help, Tom has been producing The Booley House show since it was conceived in 1991. He is known not to stand by on the side-lines, and takes part in the show himself performing along with the set dancers he teaches. Tom is also the chairman of Ballyduff Comhaltas branch, as well as the local set-dancing class teacher.

His students have had a huge amount of competition success throughout the years throughout the different age groups. However Tom considers the “craic” and enjoyment of dance to be the real goal worth achieving. He is well-known in the local community for his very successful fund-raising efforts and his strong belief in preserving the traditions of Irish music, dance and song. In his eyes, “the most important purpose of The Booley House Show is not as a commercial tourist venture, but as a stage to develop the skills and talents of our local dancers and musicians. But it is with great pride that we share this with our audiences night after night”.
